What is the E-G-G?

Funding for pain research is difficult to obtain, especially for young researchers.

That is why Grünenthal GmbH and the European Pain Federation EFIC® partnered to found the EFIC- Grünenthal Grant (E-G-G).

Since 2004, the E-G-G has successfully funded 70 innovative research projects, awarding almost €1.8 million to participants in more than 14 countries.

What does E-G-G offer?

Funding

Grünenthal supports the E-G-G 2023 with €110,000. Each grant has a maximum value of €50,000.

Independence

The E-G-G also offers young researchers the freedom and flexibility to pursue their own lines of research.

Exposure

The grant gives successful recipients the opportunity to present their findings at the EFIC® Congress, Europe’s largest scientific pain congress.

Network

The E-G-G’s alumni have gone on to become leaders in their fields with many previous winners now holding prominent positions in the pain research community.
